Date night with Raine and Chantal
Date night on Monday! Brenda bought us tickets to see Raine and Chantal at the Vogue Theatre. Fitting that they started their national tour in Vancouver.
The show was a mash-up of two separate (then combined) music careers, start-and-stop introductions and songs (old and brand new material), some laughs, and the playful banter inside of a "forever marriage."
I read they were married December 19th, 1999. We were married on August 7th, 1999 (on Quadra!) I LOVE that we share music, parenthood, ~27 years of marriage (we are slightly ahead) and living life with our 'ride-or-die' partner...
When our boys were little, we played the first 'For The Kids' album on repeat. "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" (Track 14) was a beautiful -- and uniquely Maida and Kreviazuk -- arrangement that will remain a family favourite. They clearly would not have played a nursery rhyme and lullaby on Monday night, but as we reminisced about those precious early times, I was nearly tempted to shout out a request from the relative safety of our upper balcony seats. Maybe next time.
